House of Yoga is firsly all about you on your mat, in your space. Your body, your breath, your beat. The House of Yoga is a dance for embodiment of the rhythm of a beat. It is a light yet profound way of moving with yoga asanas and music which creates a great sense of balance and has a unique practise of aligning our movements with our breath as we inhale and exhale to the beat. Body, Breath. Beat. It is one of the best things is that when we do it together. House music is a joyful celebration of healing rhythms and positive poetic lyrics. We all really love to party, and house of yoga is like a bodyparty!! And because we move together as one at times its a great collective dance.

Yoga Workshops with Dagmar Khan

Hip Helpers for Classic Yoga Poses

DATE: 5th May 2012. Time: 10.30am-1pm

As your yoga practice evolves, you may find that some of your poses progress and feel expansive, while others are stubborn and stuck. Your hips are a major component of nearly every category of asana, from standing, to sitting, to inversions. The hips can be a confusing maze of muscles and bones. Many students will punish their hips, stretching and overstretching to try to change a pose, resulting in more frustration and pain. In reality, the hips are very simple joints that are wildly misunderstood. Hip Helpers will vastly improve your embodiment of your hip anatomy. Learn how to skilfully connect to your hips, legs, and core as they relate to the most classic poses in all of hatha yoga. This class explores many of the major seated and standing poses, and introduces multiple preparations and variations to help anyone at any level improve their postures.

PRICE: 30 Euros before 20th April or 35 Euros afterwards

SPECIAL OFFER: combine with TUNE UP YOUR SPINE for 55 Euros as an early bird price if paid by 20th April

This workshop identifies spinal "blind spots," and reconditions them with new therapeutic moves from yoga, body therapy and self-massage. Learn to thoroughly prepare your spine from every conceivable angle. This approach will helps you to relieve physical pain and tension, promote circulation and enhance the overall function of your spine.

This workshop will give you a whole new backbone!

Feb 5th 2012 Time: 10am - 12.30pm

April 7th 2012 Time: 10am - 12.30pm

Cost: 25 euros

This is suitable for all levels of practitioner; and is a guided class through the entire Moon Sequence as developed and taught by Matthew Sweeney (www.yogatemple.com). Matthew is an advanced practitioner of Ashtanga Yoga. He developed this sequence as a cooling and therapeutic complement and alternative to the Ashtanga primary series. It is designed to be quite calming, but also energetic in its effects. The sequence works the entire body, but is particularly effective at opening the hips, shoulders, and sacral areas. Originally c reated for the times around Full moon and new moon when our energy can be particularly low so you can avoid injury or strain. This sequence is created for when you are feeling tired or needing a practice, which doesn't put too much emphasis on the upper body strength or knees.

Who Should Attend: Open to all levels of practitioner, but is particularly suited to students with vinyasa flowing yoga experience or ashtanga primary series. See www.yogaaware.net

Vinyasa flow Yoga through the Chakras with Kathryn Moynihan

March 16th Friday Evening 7:00pm - 9:30pm

Cost: 25 euros

About the Workshop

There are seven chakras within the body. Each one represents an important centre of the body's and mind's energy, as well as different stages of spiritual development. The chakra are aligned from root to crown. The aim of yoga is to awaken and raise the energy throughout the body, from root to crown. Then we can reach a state of bliss and enlightenment. Although all yoga poses work each of the seven major chakras, specific poses will work to address issues within specific chakras. ThisVinyasa Flow Yoga  Sequence will work progressively, once chakra at a time, from the root to thework with each other, and to open the channels of energy for optimal flow. Finishing with Pranayama and a Chakra Meditation.

Level: Open to all levels of yoga practitioners except complete beginners. This is a dynamic Vinyasa Flow to invirgorate and energize ending with a chakra meditation.
